Diesel price drops for second consecutive day; petrol remains unchanged

The Minister of the Oil Union and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that the government is “sensitive” towards the price of petroleum products.

The diesel price fell for the second consecutive day Thursday. In Delhi, the price of diesel came down up to € 89.47 after a cut of 20 pais. Similarly, the fuel was 97.04 € a liter in Mumbai.

In Chennai, the new diesel price is 94.02 liters from € 94.02, while in Kolkata, it sells at € 92.57 per liter.

The price of gas, however, remained unchanged. It costs € 101.84 per liter in Delhi, € 107.83 / liter in Mumbai, € 99.47 / liter in Chennai and 102.08 € in Kolkata. The price of gas has remained unchanged since July 17th.

The Petroleum Union and the Minister of Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that the government is “sensitive” to the price of petroleum products and takes all possible measures to solve the problem.

He also blamed the Congress of the current trend of rising prices for gasoline and diesel.

“We are sensitive to this and take action possible as a 10% mix that we will increase to 20%. So we take many measures,” said the minister.

“The center imposes an excise tax on gasoline and diesel, while states impose VAT on it. We use this money money to finance programs such as PM Gaib Kalyan Yojna under which 80 Crores have Received free food cereals, PM Awas Yojna, Ujjwala Scheme, added Puri.

He stated that the Congress Government, before 2014, published oil bonds of the LAKH crore from € to control the price of gas and transmitted their problem to the Government of the BJP. “They emptied the chest. We have to pay a crore of € 20,000 this year for oil obligations with a period of 15 years.”
