A teenager Hindu woman was killed allegedly by a Muslim man in the Sindh Province of Pakistan because he refused to marry him, sparking anger and condemnation on the social media from the leaders and activists of the country’s main opposition.
The woman, Pooja Kumari (18), is a resident of Ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhunki in the Shukkur area in Sindh. According to a report in Fajar, citing the Sukir Basir Jagiran Station house officer, the suspect who was identified as Wahid Bux Lashari, along with two other accused, “entered Pooja Kumari’s house and opened it.” It was said, “Lashari officials wanted to marry the teenager, but he refused.”
