Iran’s largest warship catches fire, sinking in Oman’s Gulf

The Iranian Navy usually handles patrols in the Gulf of Oman and a wider ocean, while the country’s paramilitary revolutionary guards operate in more superficial waters from the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. However, in recent months, the Navy launched a slightly larger commercial tanker called Macran was converted to serve the same function as Kharg.
