Taylor Swift, known for her influential presence, often uses her platform to make significant statements. Recently, the internet was abuzz with rumors that ‘Joker’ actress Lady Gaga was expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Michael Polansky. The speculation began after some observed what they believed to be a baby bump on the 38-year-old singer. To address these rumors, Gaga took to TikTok, posting a video featuring a song from Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department.
In response to the video, Taylor Swift criticized those spreading the rumors with a comment on Gaga’s post:
Can we all agree that it’s invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body? Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and neither does any woman.
This comment followed Gaga’s use of Swift’s song ‘Down Bad’ in her video to dispel the pregnancy rumors. In the video, Gaga included a voiceover stating:
I don’t have to find an aesthetic. I am an aesthetic. I mean, I’m sure there’s somebody out here right now who’s going into Pinterest trying to type all these adjectives to describe me.
Text over the video read, “Not pregnant—just down bad cryin’ at the gym.”
The pregnancy rumors began circulating after photos from her sister Natali Germanotta’s wedding went viral. Besides Taylor, Gaga’s makeup artist, Sarah Tanno, also addressed the false rumors on X, formerly known as Twitter. She emphasized that even if Gaga were pregnant, it was no one else’s business.
