Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and is one of the four sacred months mentioned in the Qur’an.

Khaleej Times said citing the center of astronomy that the moon is unlikely to be seen Sunday and that the first of Muharram will fall on Tuesday in most Islamic countries. The Islamic New Year will also begin on August 10 in Emirovie, Khaleej Times said citing Islamic affairs and the charitable activities of Dubai.
