Fans of Harry Potter star Emma Watson couldn’t contain their excitement when the actress was spotted sharing a tender moment with her new boyfriend. The 34-year-old actress and her beau, Kieran Brown, were seen locking lips beside a white car, both dressed in matching blue button-up shirts. Although Emma typically keeps her personal life private, it seems this relationship might be more than just a casual fling.
Currently, Emma is working on her master’s degree at Oxford University, focusing on creative writing. Her new partner, Kieran Brown, is also immersed in academia, pursuing a PhD in 19th-century literature and economics. According to a source quoted by The Sun, “Emma is studying creative writing, and [Brown’s] thesis is all about literary theory—so they have a lot to talk about. She looks so loved up with Kieran.”
Before her relationship with Brown, Emma was romantically linked to Brandon Green, the son of a controversial business tycoon. Their relationship lasted from August 2022 to May 2023. After their breakup, Emma announced that she would be taking a break from her acting career to focus on other pursuits.
In an interview discussing her decision, Emma shared, “Because I’m in a career that moves very quickly, the decision to take time to do these things felt like a very big decision. [Choosing] to go back and write and study and get behind the camera was terrifying for me because I’d never done it before. I had always been in front of the camera; I’d always been an actor.”
Reflecting on her choice, she added, “I’m just so glad that I did because I have this feeling of having my voice and creative space and sovereignty in some way that I don’t think I did before—more autonomy.”
This isn’t the first time Emma has taken a step back from her acting career to focus on education. In 2011, at the age of 21, she announced that she was temporarily dropping out of Brown University, explaining, “As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.”
With her new relationship and academic pursuits, Emma Watson seems to be embracing this next chapter of her life with the same passion and thoughtfulness that have always defined her career.
