Gypsy-Rose Alcida Blanchard-Anderson, widely known for her story as chronicled in The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, has announced that she is expecting her first child. Gypsy, who previously made headlines after being convicted of the second-degree murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, has now shared the news of her pregnancy, marking a new chapter in her life.
The announcement came via a heartfelt YouTube video titled, “I’m Pregnant: My Journey So Far.” In the video, Gypsy revealed, “I know the rumours have been flying around for quite some time now. And I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant.” This candid confession touched many, as Gypsy opened up about her surprise at the unexpected news.
She continued, “Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.” Gypsy’s tone was one of excitement and hope as she looked forward to embracing motherhood.
Addressing comments from fans who expressed concerns about her readiness to become a mother, Gypsy responded thoughtfully, saying, “I know that there are going to be people who feel like I’m not ready to be a mother. And I don’t know if anyone’s ready to be a mother.” Her honesty highlighted the complexities and uncertainties that often accompany new parenthood.
Emotional and reflective, Gypsy spoke about how her difficult relationship with her mother, who subjected her to years of abuse, has influenced her views on motherhood. “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby. I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother to my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn’t,” she expressed, indicating her desire to create a loving and nurturing environment for her own child.
Earlier this year, Gypsy also shared details about reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend, Urker, in a YouTube video. The two had maintained a relationship while Gypsy was serving her prison sentence. Although they separated before her release in 2023, Gypsy’s marriage to Ryan Anderson ended, leading her to rekindle her connection with Urker.
Reflecting on their renewed relationship, Gypsy said, “It wasn’t until I knew that my marriage was over that I was like, ‘I would like to see you and let’s hang out because we never got to hang out before when I was in prison.” This statement reveals her desire to revisit past relationships and build new connections after her time in prison.
As Gypsy prepares for motherhood, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup continues to chronicle her life’s journey. The series, which began streaming on Lifetime and Amazon Prime on June 3, 2024, will release new episodes on July 15, 2024, and July 22, 2024, offering viewers further insights into Gypsy’s life as she navigates these significant changes.
