American rapper and singer Pitbull has joined the ranks of those praising Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton for its innovative use of music. The first part of the third season premiered on May 16, and one standout scene features Penelope and Colin in a passionate moment inside a carriage, with Pitbull’s song “Give Me Everything” playing in the background.
The show is known for its creative instrumental covers of popular songs by artists like BTS, Nick Jonas, Sia, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift.
Pitbull, 41, shared his excitement on Instagram by posting a clip of the scene. He remarked on the song’s significance, which features Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer and became his first Billboard Hot 100 number-one single.
While Bridgerton often incorporates playful tracks from artists like Taylor Swift and Sia, this particular song made a unique impact.
In an interview with Business Insider, Bridgerton’s showrunner, Jess Brownell, shared that she personally chose the song for the scene. She was given a playlist by the show’s music supervisor, Justin Kamps, and was instantly captivated by the track’s energy.
Brownell admitted that she wasn’t a regular Pitbull listener, but the song’s build-up was undeniable and perfectly matched the scene. She explained, “When you consider that scene, it’s the culmination of years of friendship and Penelope’s long-time crush reaching a dramatic peak.”
She felt that “Give Me Everything” was the perfect choice, surpassing other slower romantic songs, and resonated beautifully with the scene’s theme.
