Nick Jonas, a member of the pop band Jonas Brothers, announced on Instagram that he has contracted influenza. Due to his illness, the Jonas Brothers’ show in Mexico has been postponed. Nick apologized to fans for the sudden change and mentioned that his condition has been worsening rather than improving.
Nick, the American singer and songwriter, revealed to fans that he is down with influenza and expressed his regret for the disappointment caused by the rescheduling of the Jonas Brothers’ show dates.
The Jonas Brothers, consisting of Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas, were originally scheduled to perform in Mexico this weekend. However, due to Nick’s illness, the dates have been changed.
In a video shared on Instagram last Friday, the 31-year-old singer elaborated on the situation.
Hello everyone, it’s Nick speaking. I have some unfortunate news to share. A couple of days ago, I started feeling under the weather; I woke up without my voice and powered through the night… However, over the past two, two and a half days, it’s only gotten worse. I spent practically the entire day in bed yesterday, dealing with a fever, body aches, sore throat, and a really bad cough.
Despite a doctor’s checkup, Nick’s health has not improved. In a heartfelt message, he said,
I just need to recover and beat this thing. I’m so sorry. I hate disappointing you guys. You do so much to support us. A lot of you have traveled to be at that show. I just want to say I’m heartbroken over this. Again, I’m really sorry, but I gotta try to beat this thing.
It’s clear how much he regrets letting his fans down. Alongside the video, he captioned,
Hello everyone. I’ve been hit with a severe case of influenza A that’s been circulating, and unfortunately, I’m unable to sing at the moment. We always strive to deliver the best show possible, but under the circumstances, I won’t be able to do so for the upcoming shows in Mexico.
In the video, Nick also announced that the shows have been rescheduled for August. The concerts in Mexico City are now set for August 21 and August 22, while the shows in Monterrey will take place on August 24 and August 25.
