NASA regularly shares images on the ongoing social media handle. But sometimes, we will reduce memory distance too. On Thursday, July 8, American space agency shared a mission image from a decade ago in the Twitter and Instagram handle. It was today back in 2011 that shuttle space was appointed from John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In a four-slide post on Instagram, NASA shared a picture of Atlantis, “drove feathers,” to the international space station.
The third picture in the post shows a spacecraft in space, and the fourth landing again after completing the mission. It was also Atlantis’s last flight. “Exactly 10 years ago today, the last mission of the American shuttle program was appointed from @nasakennedy at 11:29 a.m. EDT on the way to the International Space Station (@iss),” read information to the post.
NASA is an emotional tip for an era for many people. “This launch is the last chapter in 30 years aviation history of space shuttle from Space Florida beach,” the next post is read.
On the Atlantis shuttle is the crew of four Astronauts NASA – Chris Ferguson’s commander, Doug Hurley pilot, along with Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim’s mission specialist – which sets the STS-135 mission. During this final space shuttle mission, the crew provides a charge and supply to support international space stations for more than a year, said NASA.
On July 15, 2011, Barack Obama, US President, held a radio conversation with a combined shuttle and the station crew. “We all watch when 10 of you work together as a team,” Obama said. Your example means so not only for fellow Americans, but also your fellow citizens, the former president added. The space program always realizes our sense of adventure and exploration and courage, he further said.
On July 21, 2011, as seen in the last picture of the post, Atlantis came out of the darkness first and landed at the runway facilities of Kennedy’s Shuttle Landay 15.
